What is a “sidecar” account?

A sidecar account is a special account that is available to every WP Engine client. You do need to have a WP Engine account already in order to have access to this account. The account is perfect for a site that does less than 25,000 pageviews a month, and it has 15 GB of bandwidth. The price of the side car is $29.00 a month.

You still get all the some of the WP Engine features, such as WordPress updates and maintenance, though it does not include our CDN.

If you have a WP Engine account, and would like to sign up for a sidecar account, please sign up here.

After you sign up, please contact the support team at our email support@wpengine.com with the sitename/account name that was used when you sign up. A manual change is required on our end to put the account onto a ‘sidecar.’

Please note, WordPress Multisite is not available with this account type.
