Child Mind Institute: Increasing Access to the Leading Children’s Mental Health Science & Care

The Child Mind Institute is a global leader in children’s mental health research, education, and care. Sadly, they were also stuck with an old and difficult-to-manage website that was failing to meet the needs and expectations of the Child Mind staff and the millions of parents who visit the nonprofit online every year. That’s when the healthcare nonprofit reached out to Constructive to reinvigorate a brand they felt was

misrepresenting them and dramatically rethink their digital strategy. The Institute’s goals? Create a website that would better explain their innovative work across children’s mental health care, education, and science, widen their impact their to reach more families with lower access to the support they need, and increase access to care through online and telehealth services.

The Legal Aid Society

For 150 years, The Legal Aid Society has been a steadfast stalwart and tenacious fighter for justice. With offices in every borough of New York City, the iconic public interest law firm and advocacy leader is part of the fabric of NY communities, providing unparalleled support and representation. This size, scale, and history, however also created an unfocused brand—with over 2,000 staff in 26 offices working in silos and needing to unite behind a shared understanding and vision. That’s when The Legal Aid Society asked Constructive to help them rebuild their brand from the ground up. Together, we engaged the entire organization—through a holistic process to increase understanding, create clarity, unite their people, communicate their purpose, and align every designed experience that connects people to The Legal Aid Society’s iconic brand.

American Forests

Founded in 1875, American Forests has been leading to protect and restore the country’s forests for longer than any American environmental conservation nonprofit. Two years after new leadership established a bold, new strategy to expand a national reforestation movement across rural and urban landscapes and to lead the DEIJ conversation on Tree Equity, American Forests was ready to re-imagine their historic brand to live up to their mission and the moment. Together, we dived deep into their history, strategic plan, issue areas, and communications goals—then developed new branding and an expansive website that tells American Forests’ story and connects diverse audiences to their array of

expert insights, programs, partnerships, and resources.

Spark the Journey

Starting with just one school in Washington DC and expanding their impact across 21 years of success, Capital Partners for Education was a pioneer in advancing economic mobility and social equity. Through a combination of innovative mentoring programs, wraparound services, and a deep focus on addressing systemic racism in the education system, CPE stood as a champion of low-income, high-achieving high school students in “the academic middle”—those who are not at risk of failing, and so fall through the cracks. After wrapping up a strategic planning process, CEP was ready for its next chapter—expanding its reach to support college students

and young adults in their careers and adding an array of new programs. There was just one problem: Capital Partners for Education didn’t speak to CPE’s work and created confusion that they were a financial Institution. That’s when they asked Constructive to create a new brand to propel them forward.
