San Diego Symphony

We helped breathe new energy into San Diego’s largest arts organization.

With a robust social media and PR program that positions the San Diego Symphony as a can’t-miss attraction in Southern California, our team has shifted the narrative around classical music to highlight the Orchestra’s vibrant and diverse repertoire.

By producing eye-catching and engaging content that includes scroll-stopping Reels, the social team grew the San Diego Symphony’s Instagram account from 8,000 to 23,000 followers. Additionally, in 2021 we launched new social channels for the Symphony’s first-ever permanent outdoor venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, and grew the Instagram account – 100 percent organically – from 0 followers to over 14,000 followers within the first year-and-a-half of its launch.

The PR team spearheaded publicity efforts to open the orchestra’s first-ever permanent outdoor venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, positioning the public park + venue as California’s newest seaside icon and securing more than 160 pieces of coverage with a reach just shy of 1 billion in the venue’s first month. Coverage included Vogue, Los Angeles Times, Westways, Travel Awaits, San Diego Union-Tribune and more.

T S Resturants

T S Restaurants sees guests as friends to celebrate life with.

With 13 restaurants located throughout California and Hawaii, including sub brands such as Duke’s and Hula Grill, we’re helping T S to develop consistent brand standards as industry leaders in lifestyle-focused dining.

Beyond its excellent dining experiences, T S has a strong commitment to the environment and philanthropy, giving back in their communities through the Legacy of Aloha program.

We partnered with T S to redesign their websites, refine their brand messaging, provide professional photography and videography assets, and handle all of their day to day design needs.

T S Restaurants started with a friendship 41 years ago and has kept that sense of friendship and family continuous every year since. We are honored to be a part of the T S ‘Ohana!

Ketch Brewing

Ketch Brewing is a West Coast inspired brewery that creates easy-to-love beer for making memories, with notes of nautical themes and SD vibes. Ketch is home to the Brigantine Restaurant group based in San Diego, but was looking to grow nationally. Dr. Sam Billheimer is Ketch Brewing’s Head Brewer, who gained experience with iconic brewers at Mike Hess and Fall Brewing.

The Ketch team came to Mari + Gold with three beers and a logo. Ketch was looking to create an iconic beer brand that consumers loved, fit their culture, and made a statement in a crowded San Diego brewery market.

The Mari + Gold team carefully crafted on-brand messaging, designed one-of-a-kind beer cans and tap handles, built a new website from scratch, and executed all product and lifestyle photography for the Ketch brand.

The Crack Shack

The Crack Shack has reimagined everybody’s favorite animal that crossed the road with Southern California fried chicken and egg fare in the sunny so-cal spirit of inspired cuisine, spacious ambiance, lawn games and craft drinks for any occasion.

Our office is based in Little Italy, so naturally we were huge fans of The Crack Shack and frequent guests!

We partnered with them to refine their brand messaging, build an amazing new website, create fun packaging and set them up for future growth as they expand locations.

The Crack Shack may be serving fried chicken, but they really care about the quality of the ingredients and the taste of the food.

We needed to keep the attitude that everyone loved, while infusing the proper way to tell the full scope of their story and values.
