Texas’ economy is the second largest in the United States, a measure of success that’s only expected to continue; Texas ranks first for its growth prospects due to impressive growth forecasts and competitive employment rates across the state. To tap into this statewide success, however, Texas-based companies still need to provide a fulfilling, diverse, and values-driven workplace.

In addition to being the birthplace of WP Engine and home to our corporate headquarters, Austin, TX is also the birthplace of our company’s core values. Since those values were created, we’ve grown exponentially, expanded globally, and evolved internally. We’ve also worked hard to make sure those core values have endured change and growth, and they help guide our decisions, collaboration, and innovation—in our locations around the world and back where it all started, in the Lone Star State.

Today we’re proud to announce that WP Engine has been named the #4 best Small/Medium-sized place to work in Texas by Fortune and Great Place to Work.

To determine the 2019 best places to work in Texas, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey feedback from more than 42,000 Texas employees who answered questions that analyzed experiences of trust and their ability to reach their full human potential in the workplace, no matter who they are or what they do. Other questions included topics such as employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders.

“Texas is a big state, and with so many great companies and employees moving here each year, there is a ton of competition to be recognized as a best company to work for,” said Andy North, communications director at WP Engine. “This recognition means a great deal, not just for our Texas employees, but for everyone at WP Engine around the world. WP Engine is a purpose-driven company and it resonates with our team members and makes us stand out in a very crowded field.”

Overall, this award is a testament to the type of workplace WP Engine strives to build in all of its locations and comes on the heels of a similar recognition from Fortune and Great Place to Work, which named our Limerick, Ireland office a Great Place to Work in Ireland for Small Companies.

The award is also a result of WP Engine’s leadership, whose tireless efforts to make sure WP Engine is a great place to work for all of our employees is clearly having results. Just last month, WP Engine CEO Heather Brunner was recognized for those efforts when she was named as one of the 2019 Great Place to Work For All Leadership Award honorees. The award celebrates top innovators from companies on Fortune’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, 100 Best Workplaces for Women, 100 Best Workplaces for Diversity, and 150 Best Small and Medium Companies to Work For.
