As we continue to support our customers\u2019 digital vision with best-in-class performance<\/a> and enterprise-grade secure WordPress hosting<\/a>, we\u2019re also making sure their user login experience is smoother and more streamlined than ever before.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the ways we\u2019re achieving this is by offering two new, easy-to-use, and easy-to-enable identity features: Seamless Login<\/a> and Single Sign-On<\/a>, both of which, we hope, will help simplify your overall digital workflow.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seamless Login<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Seamless Login securely and automatically authenticates users from the WP Engine User Portal<\/a> to WordPress Admin with a single click.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Seamless Login, specified users can sign into the WP Engine User Portal and they will automatically be logged in to WordPress Admin.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This new authentication method not only <\/strong>removes the need for an additional set of login credentials, it also boosts the security of your site by providing a single point of entry for both your WP Engine account and your WordPress site.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For organizations with multiple WordPress installs or agencies with numerous client sites, our hope is that adding this new option for seamless authentication will make navigating between the portal and WordPress even more secure and smoother, with less disruption to you and your site users\u2019 workflow.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seamless Login will be enabled by default for new WP Engine customers. If you\u2019re a current account Owner<\/a> and you would like to enable this feature, you should: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to the User Portal<\/a> <\/li>
  2. Click your name<\/strong> at the top right <\/li>
  3. Select My Profile<\/strong> <\/li>
  4. Click Seamless Login<\/a> on the left-hand side<\/li>
  5. Locate the account name you\u2019d like to enable Seamless Login for all users on <\/li>
  6. Click Enable<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If Seamless Login doesn\u2019t work for you, it\u2019s possible the feature is still disabled. Please note that Seamless Login does not currently work with Multisite or password-protected sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After Seamless Login has been set up, you and the users you\u2019ve selected will simply need to click on the WordPress Admin<\/em> link from the User Portal to be automatically logged in and directed to the WordPress Admin page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Single Sign-On<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We are also excited to announce the availability of our SAML-based Single Sign-On feature, which allows customers to use their own corporate identity systems, such as an Active Directory, Google, or Okta, to authenticate logins to WP Engine\u2019s User Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This solution simplifies the process for customers to grant and revoke access to their mission-critical websites, and to set up custom security rules such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) and minimum password complexity, based on their internal processes and governance practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cWP Engine\u2019s Single Sign-On feature helps us reduce the number of user credentials our staff have to maintain while ensuring that administrative access to key TCU websites is secure. Disabling a user\u2019s primary TCU credentials also revokes access to WP Engine, eliminating common user management pitfalls and keeping our network of sites safe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>Corey Reed, Director of Website Management, Texas Christian University<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
