It was a modest start, but from there Web Summit was born. Five years later, Dublin is bracing for <a href=\"https:\/\/websummit.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Web Summit 2015<\/a>, which will bring more than 30,000 delegates from across the globe to the Ireland capital.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place from 2<sup>nd<\/sup> November to 5<sup>th<\/sup> November, and will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the 2015 tech calendar \u2013it\u2019s already being billed as <a href=\"https:\/\/websummit.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cthe best technology conference on the planet!\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And WP Engine will be at Web Summit in full force. We have a nine-strong team heading to Dublin, including our CEO Heather Brunner and myself (EMEA Managing Director Fabio Torlini). This is our second year taking part in Web Summit and we\u2019ll be exhibiting for all three days of the event.<\/p>\n<p>We have a packed schedule of meetings and activities \u2013 here\u2019s a snapshot of what we\u2019ll be up to and how you can get involved:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panel Discussions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heather is participating in two <strong>panel sessions<\/strong> on Wednesday, 4<sup>th<\/sup> November. They\u2019re on really interesting subjects and cover issues close to Heather\u2019s heart. We\u2019re sure the theatre will be packed, so get there early for a seat. Here are the details:<\/p>\n<p><u>Building a diverse company? Start from the beginning<\/u><br \/>\n11:05 a.m., Start-up University<br \/>\n<em>The discussion will look at ways in which entrepreneurs can include diversity when building their company and their staff, with reflection on the fast-moving tech world in general and where it needs to &#8220;grow up.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>The Guardian Presents: Monopolies and Unicorns: European Tech and Democracy<\/u><br \/>\n2:25 p.m., The Society Stage<br \/>\n<em>As the European Commission takes aim at some of the world\u2019s largest tech pla\u200bt\u200bforms, what more can be done to support the emergence of European tech giants to rival those of Silicon Valley?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>WP Engine Customer Event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, 4<sup>th<\/sup> November we\u2019ll host an evening party for our customers.
