Winners were announced this week for the 26th annual Webby Awards<\/a>, which included some of the most innovative digital projects built on WordPress over the past year. Since 1996, the Webbys have served as the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences<\/a> (IADAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, The Webby Awards presents two honors across nine categories<\/a>\u2014The Webby Award and The Webby People\u2019s Voice Award. Nominees, as well as Webby Award winners, are selected by IADAS members. In the spirit of the open web, The Webby People\u2019s Voice is awarded by the voting public, with millions of votes pouring in from all over the world every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WP Engine has long been a proud sponsor of the Webbys, and we were pleased to see many of our customers and agency partners among this year\u2019s winners and nominees. The true winner of the Webbys, though, was WordPress, with more than 55 of all Webby-nominated projects built on the CMS this year alone. WordPress is the CMS of choice for a wide range of diverse entrants as well as many of this year\u2019s winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the Webby Awards and WP Engine also present a collaborative showcase called Crafted With Code<\/a>. It honors a selection of Webby-recognized sites built on WordPress by sharing the behind-the-scenes details of website production, from creative conception to live launch and beyond. Crafted With Code<\/a> honorees in 2022 included sites built for a myriad of industries, including a Netflix smash hit series<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Creative<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Creative Ecosystems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Athletics<\/a> is an independent creative studio out of Brooklyn, NYC. It built the Creative Ecosystems<\/a> site as a resource to connect Black creatives with Black-owned organizations across the United States and beyond. The 2022 category winner for Employment Websites and Mobile<\/a> is a \u201cdigital garden,\u201d creating space for Black creatives to connect with one another and facilitate the growth of Black-led organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Patagonia<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Patagonia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Branding and digital design agency BASIC\/DEPT\u00ae<\/a> received People\u2019s Voice Awards<\/a> for two separate Patagonia projects: Patagonia\u2019s flagship site<\/a> and the Patagonia Footprint Chronicles<\/a> site. The flagship site was honored as the 2022 People\u2019s Voice Best Mobile User Experience, while the Footprint Chronicles site took home the People\u2019s Voice Award for Corporate Social Responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Harvard<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Harvard University<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Custom WordPress agency Modern Tribe<\/a> blended historic significance with modern function for Harvard University<\/a>. Their new, Webby People\u2019s Voice Award<\/a>-winning site increases accessibility for users by clearly guiding them to their desired destination across dozens of University colleges, institutes, free online courses, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Endeavor<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Endeavor Global<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Endeavor Global<\/a> employed the assistance of digital agency Wide Eye<\/a> to secure their People\u2019s Voice Webby Award<\/a>. Endeavor is a global community of high-impact entrepreneurs interested in assisting the creation of sustainable economies worldwide. Their new website advances their goals of supporting their global network of entrepreneurs, elevating their stories, and investing in their success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11Onze<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Community fintech company 11Onze<\/a> was recognized as an Honoree at the 26th Webby Awards<\/a> for La Pla\u00e7a<\/a>, a personal social media network focused on empowering users with financial literacy and tools for wealth creation. 11Onze worked closely<\/a> with WP Engine Agency Partner WONDR<\/a> on the project, achieving this recognition in a category (Financial Services\/Banking) filled with industry giants including Apple, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
