WP Engine<\/a> is proud to be recognized as the New Business Partner of the Year by United Way of the Midlands<\/a>, showcasing our commitment to driving meaningful change in the communities we live and work in.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award honors first-time corporate partners whose significant contributions empower United Way of the Midlands to expand their reach and impact. Representatives from WP Engine accepted the award during the organization\u2019s Annual Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska on October 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnited Way of the Midlands has a huge impact here in Nebraska, and we\u2019re so grateful to be a part of their story,\u201d said WP Engine Director of Technical Support and Omaha Site Lead Dan White. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlus, we now have the added benefit of seeing that impact up close, since they\u2019re our neighbors on the fourth floor of the Ashton building<\/a>!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WP Engine\u2019s partnership with United Way of the Midlands is rooted in a shared commitment to community betterment. Read on to learn more about this collaboration and the far-reaching impact United Way of the Midlands has made in Nebraska and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is United Way of the Midlands?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Way of the Midlands has been a community cornerstone for nearly a century. Dedicated to promoting inclusivity, social justice, and well-being, its holistic approach to community support spans four focus areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through initiatives like JAG Nebraska<\/a> and the 211 Helpline<\/a>, the organization provides a strong support network for underserved individuals and families, working tirelessly to support those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, approximately 850 organizations contributed to United Way of the Midlands, donating their time and talents to help create change and provide community support. At their Annual Meeting, United Way of the Midlands announced its 2024 Campaign Partner Award winners<\/a>, recognizing businesses that went above and beyond to support the organization throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They bestowed five Corporate Partner of the Year awards (presented to companies within four different employee-size categories), the New Business Partner of the Year award, two Volunteer Organization of the Year awards, and a Corporate Partner of the Year\u2014Leadership Donors award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, nine organizations were honored at the Annual Meeting, and WP Engine is proud to be counted among them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WP Engine\u2019s contribution and award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Way of the Midlands recognized WP Engine for contributing something that\u2019s often difficult for nonprofits to obtain: Functional, affordable space to grow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, WP Engine sublet a portion of our Omaha office space<\/a> on the fourth floor of the Ashton building in Millwork Commons<\/a> to United Way of the Midlands\u2014complete with furnishings and technology\u2014at the cost of just $1.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This in-kind support allowed United Way to quickly establish operations in a vibrant, functional coworking environment, empowering them to expand staffing and enhance program capacity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new office space is also large enough to host meetings and events for other nonprofits, contributing to the collaborative nature of both the Millwork Commons community and the United Way of the Midlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WP Engine\u2019s donation of this much-needed space illustrates our core value, Committed to Give Back.<\/a> It will allow United Way of the Midlands to continue to grow and foster community support in Nebraska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
