It was a huge success! Take a look below for what went down at this year&#8217;s WordCamp Miami in photos&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25094 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3085-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>WordCamp Miami kicked off this year on March 24 and ran through March 26. The theme of this year&#8217;s camp was a nod to the 80\u2019s where Miami Vice and Back to the Future made an appearance.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25097\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3087.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>The event was held at Florida International University, a beautiful campus for hosting WordCamp Miami. Over 900 attendees congregated together for three days of WordPress content.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25098\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3419.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>We brought a team of four with us for this special WordCamp. (From left to right: Brian McMahon one of our Technical Account Managers, Steven Word our Core Contributor, Shayda Torabi from the Marketing team, and Chris Reed one of our Sales Engineers.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25101\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3277-e1490801080467.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>WCMIA featured a handful of panels with industry influencers to provide attendees with opportunities to ask questions and get insights from the experts. This type of content allowed for a deeper discussion amongst the panelists and the audience with topics ranging from ecommerce to business.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25102\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/torque-toons-pic-e1490801022630.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Torque brought their famous <strong>Torque Toons<\/strong> book which was a hit with not only the adult attendees\u00a0but also with the Kids Camp (now a staple event at WCMIA). The toons book is a zine filled with a sampling of hand-drawn cartoons by Doctor Popular \u2014 you can view them all at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/torquemag.io\/?s=torque+toons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">torquemag.io<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25104\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/happiness-bar-wcmia-e1490801052270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1400\" height=\"1410\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>If you stopped by the Happiness Bar, you probably would have been delighted to pick up this punny candy bar. The Happiness Bar is manned by a group of individuals who are there to provide you with WordPress help&#8230;think of it like the Genius Bar at Apple.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25107\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3415-e1490801603546.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>We realize all the hard work that goes into planning a WordCamp and appreciate the opportunity to provide sponsorship to aid in helping make them happen. WordCamps are the hard work of volunteers, organizers, sponsors, and vendors to help make these weekend events\u00a0possible.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25109\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3142-e1490801721271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>A new piece of programming this year was the \u201cAMA\u201d Ask Me Anything section. It featured key industry experts and allowed the crowd to ask them anything in an informal setting. We\u2019ve seen these done online, but to introduce it into an offline setting was really cool.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25113\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3116.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>WordCamp Miami also featured a few talks that dove into Drupal and what we can learn from the Drupal community. It\u2019s awesome\u00a0to see us go beyond our own ecosystem and to get insight and ideas from neighboring open source communities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25114 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3033-769x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"769\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>The people are some of our favorite things about coming to WordCamps. We got to catch up with so many old friends and made time to meet some new ones too. Here we are with Patrick Rauland an ecommerce freelancer, Andrew Weikel of WooThemes, and Bob Dunn of BobWP. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25116 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/wordcamp-miami-2-1017x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1017\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>One of my favorite talks was by Troy Dean of WP Elevation. He\u2019s a great storyteller and he echoed a sentiment that we love about WordPress \u2014 the community is there to support you, and you can do anything you put your mind to.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25117\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3598-e1490803207701.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>We also met with Meagan Hanes, a WordPress developer and designer who keeps a bag full of stickers from all her WordCamp visits. She said she brings it to each camp she visits, often times leaving stickers and adding new ones in place \u2014 a simple way for Hanes to share a little bit of the community with everyone she meets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25119 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3644-1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>All in all, WordCamp Miami put on a great event! We loved getting to meet our customers in person\u00a0and make new friends who were attending their very first WordCamp.
