WordCamp Boston<\/a> 2017 is set to occur this week (July 22-23) at Boston University. The two-day event will be filled with lecture-style sessions, panels, and workshops all geared toward WordPress and tech.<\/p>\n

WordPress aficionado Lauren Jeffcoat will debunk some of the greatest myths about WordPress in this session<\/a>. She will provide various reasons for the skeptics on why they should reconsider WordPress as a CMS.<\/p>\n

Content Creation: The Real Deal<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve created a website, what are the next steps? In this session<\/a>, Maura Webster will provide seven important strategies for successfully and easily creating content to help bring people to your beautiful WordPress site.<\/p>\n

Playing Ball with Plugins<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

To build a plugin that stands the test of time, Marc Gratch will provide some useful tips<\/a> on plugin development. Topics covered will include hooks, filters, overwriting functions, and more.<\/p>\n

Two years Earlier<\/h3>\n

WordCamp Boston in 2015 was the first WordCamp I had ever been to, and it happened to be the first event I went to with WP Engine. I had just started working at WP Engine a few months before WordCamp Boston, so let’s just say I was a little excited. I took pictures of everything!<\/p>\n

The guy I happened to sit next to on the plane…<\/p>\n

Learning to maneuver around Boston’s public transportation<\/p>\n

I also had a strange obsession with connecting to the “Harvard” wifi network…so I headed to a coffee shop and made that happen, pretending to work on a super complicated Harvard assignment (ahem drawing).<\/p>\n
