AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Aug. 10, 2017 \u2014<\/strong> WP Engine, the leading WordPress digital experience platform<\/a>, today announced the appointment of Lee McClendon to a newly-created role as the company\u2019s new Senior Vice President of Global Engineering overseeing our global technology teams.<\/p>\n

McClendon brings more than 20 years\u2019 experience leading engineering and software development teams as well as building large-scale, global cloud infrastructure and offerings. At WP Engine, McClendon will oversee teams responsible for ensuring the preeminent WordPress digital experience platform operates more securely, runs more efficiently, integrates well with best of breed technology solutions and is able to grow even faster.<\/p>\n

Prior to WP Engine, McClendon was the Group Vice President of Engineering at SolarWinds in Austin where he led the company\u2019s global engineering team of 600+ employees across 19 offices. McClendon was responsible for SolarWinds\u2019 full product suite, including both SaaS and on-premise deployments.<\/p>\n
