To do that, you need to visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/instantarticles.fb.com\/\">Facebook Instant Articles website<\/a> and click on <em>Sign Up.<\/em> Then select an available page, or click <em>Create<\/em> <em>one now<\/em> and run through the setup process if you don\u2019t yet have one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With your page selected, you\u2019ll next need to verify ownership of your website. Within your Facebook page\u2019s administration menu, go to <em>Publishing Tools &gt; Configuration &gt; Tools &gt; Connect Your Site<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, copy the code that\u2019s provided, and then open a new window where you can access your WordPress admin dashboard. Once there, navigate to <em>Appearance &gt; Editor,<\/em> paste in the code at the top of the edit window, and save your changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To finish up, go back to <em>Connect Your Site<\/em> in your Facebook page settings. Enter your website\u2019s URL, and then choose <em>Claim URL<\/em> to display a verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Instant Articles now set up on your Facebook page, let\u2019s look at how to connect it to your WordPress site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Download the Plugin and Add an RSS Feed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second part of the process requires you to<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/article\/managing-plugins\/\"> download, install, and activate<\/a> an Instant Articles plugin. For this tutorial, we\u2019ll be using <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/fb-instant-articles\/\">Instant Articles for WP<\/a>.. This is the plugin recommended by Facebook, although we\u2019d recommend testing it out carefully, as it hasn\u2019t been updated in some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve set up the plugin, you\u2019ll need to enable your website and IA to automatically sync by creating an RSS feed. After you do that, the IA plugin will carry out the syncing process on its own.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To locate the feed, simply add <em>\/feed\/instant-articles<\/em> to the end of your website\u2019s URL in a browser (for example, <em>https:\/\/mywebsite.com\/feed\/instant-articles<\/em>). Next, copy this URL from the search bar, and head back to the Facebook page you\u2019re sending articles to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, under <em>Publishing Tools &gt; Instant Articles &gt; Configuration<\/em>, you can open the <em>Production RSS<\/em> <em>Feed<\/em> tab and paste in the URL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once that\u2019s complete, any posts published on your WordPress website will automatically appear under <em>Production Articles<\/em> in your Facebook page\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Connect the Instant Articles Plugin to Facebook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, the Instant Articles for WP plugin isn\u2019t very useful if it\u2019s not connected to your Facebook page. Fortunately, it\u2019s very easy to make that happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Return to your WordPress dashboard, and navigate to the <em>Instant Articles<\/em> screen. You\u2019ll be brought to a dedicated settings page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, you\u2019ll enter your Facebook <em>Page ID<\/em>. To find this on your Facebook page, go to <em>Publishing Tools &gt; Configuration &gt; Tools &gt; Connect Your Site.<\/em> Copy the bold number located just below the code you previously added to the settings. Then, paste the numbers into the relevant field within WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you save your changes, the configuration process is complete!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4: Customize Your Instant Articles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the great things about IA is the ability to customize your posts. There are customization options that apply to your posts\u2019 style, colors, and other key design elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To start tweaking these settings, you can use the <em>Style Templates <\/em>in Facebook. To access them, go to <em>Publishing Tools &gt; Configuration &gt; Tools &gt; Styles <\/em>from your Facebook page. Click on <em>Add Style<\/em>, and the <em>Style Editor<\/em> will appear as a popup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can add a background color, and edit <em>Article Head<\/em> elements such as your logo, headline, byline, and more. You can also edit <em>Article Body<\/em> elements, including headings and article text. Additionally, you can customize how captions and quotes will appear in your article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every change you make will appear in the preview screen on the right. When you\u2019re happy with the results, simply name your style and click on <em>Create<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5: Submit Your Facebook Instant Articles Feed for Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the plugin is fully configured, it\u2019s time to submit your articles to Facebook for review. However, there are a few requirements to keep in mind as you move forward. First, you\u2019ll need a minimum of five articles in your <em>Production Library<\/em> before the review process will begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second, your articles must contain logos. You can do this within the <em>Style Editor<\/em>. The process is similar to setting a header image in WordPress, and there are only two requirements:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The image must be a transparent PNG.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The size must be set to a minimum of 690&#215;132 px.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve adhered to the above parameters, you\u2019re ready to submit your feed. Within Facebook, head to <em>Publishing Tools > Configuration > Initial Setup > Step 2: Submit For Review<\/em>. If <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/docs\/whatsapp\/message-templates\/guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">all of the requirements are<\/a> met, the <em>Submit for Review<\/em> button will be available for you to select.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, your articles will go through a manual review process. This usually takes between 3\u20135 business days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: Publish Your Instant Articles for WordPress<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the articles in your feed have been approved, they\u2019re finally ready to be distributed and viewed by your followers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Instant Articles don\u2019t automatically post to your page, they <em>can<\/em> be easily shared. Simply create a new Facebook post, include the article link (which will be the link of your WordPress post), and click on <em>Share<\/em>! The article is now available for all your followers to read and distribute across Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 7 (Optional): Create a Facebook App for Your WordPress Page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, you\u2019ve learned how to set up and share articles with IA. If you want to monetize your articles using Facebook Ads, however, there are some additional configurations you\u2019ll want to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This involves creating a Facebook App (with<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/apps\/\"> Facebook Developer<\/a>), and using the<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/docs\/instant-articles\/monetization\/audience-network\/\"> Audience Network<\/a> platform. To begin, go to <em>Publishing Tools &gt; Configuration &gt; Audience Network<\/em> within your Facebook page. Check the \u2018terms and conditions\u2019 box, and then click on <em>Get Started<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This step will create a Facebook App for your page. You can configure the settings under <em>Audience Network<\/em> by selecting your <em>Dashboard<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To customize ad placement, navigate to <em>Audience Network &gt; Placements<\/em> on the left-hand menu. You\u2019ll find your <em>Placement ID<\/em> under <em>Active Placements<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Copy this ID, and then head back to the Instant Articles for WP plugin settings within WordPress. Complete the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <em>Ads &gt; Ad Type<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <em>Facebook Audience Network<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste the <em>Placement ID<\/em> into the <em>Audience Network Placement ID<\/em> field&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save your changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With these settings in place, your articles will now display ads from the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/help\/788333711222886\"> Facebook Ads Network<\/a>.
