For this WP Engine employee showcase I\u2019m excited to shine the spotlight on one of our After Hour Support Managers here at WP Engine! Tiffany Cruz leads our Second Shift SMB Support Team with passion and excitement for creating positive customer experiences. Tiffany is responsible for leading a team of technical support representatives and keeping the ship sailing smoothly throughout the night! Check out some of our conversation below:<\/p>\n

How did you first learn about WP Engine?<\/b>
\nI heard about WP Engine through a friend of mine. He previously worked with a few people who were working there and recommended that I check it out.. and, well, the rest is history!<\/p>\n

How has WP Engine helped you in your career development? <\/b>
\nI get to work with such a creative group of people that I feel like I am learning something new every day. I love the way that we all can truly lean on each other and all work together towards success. It has really helped to know that my team and our leadership have my back, which allows me to be creative and try new things. This makes WP Engine such a wonderful place to learn and grow.<\/p>\n

What advice do you have for prospective WP Engine candidates?<\/b>
\nI would ask that they come in with an open mind, and not to be afraid of change. I would tell them to not let past careers define them, but to take away the lessons learned and grow from that to try new things.<\/p>\n

What are three words to describe WP Engine? <\/b>
\nFast-paced, team, and focused.<\/p>\n

What have you gained from working at WP Engine?<\/b>
\nSince joining my team I have gained another family. I get to work with amazing and inspiring people each and everyday. It can’t get much better than that! To me, my team and our customers are the reason we do this day in and day out.<\/p>\n

What is the favorite part about working for WP Engine?<\/b>
\nThe team and my shift! Second shift in Austin is AMAZING! We don’t really have traffic and we get to see this beautiful city at night. The shift hours allow me to complete tasks I normally wouldn\u2019t be able to during the week.<\/p>\n

How do you balance your career at WP Engine and family? <\/b>
\nI do my very best to stay as organized as I can. I have confidence in my team to keep the night rolling and by keeping things organized we can all be on the same page. This allows me the confidence to know that things will be covered for us and our customers.<\/p>\n

Any random facts you could share with us? <\/b>
\nI was voted most artistic and most accident prone in high school. I started a business when I was 15 and then won Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in Colorado when I was 18. I have four dogs that are my furbabies! I also have a pen collection and a paper obsession!<\/p>\n

Any favorite line from a movie?<\/b>
\nI LOVE Back to the Future! My favorite quote: Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need… roads!<\/p>\n

Are you messy or organized? <\/b>
\nHow about messy organized? I have Post-its all over my desk. It is truly an organized chaos!<\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite quote?<\/b>
\nI have a ton! But…work related I love this one from Margaret Thatcher: \u201cPlan your work for today and every day, then work your plan.\u201d I found this to really have an impact on my life and the way that I manage my day.<\/p>\n

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? <\/b>
\nBacon and egg breakfast tacos with salsa!<\/p>\n
