Realizing Our Vision To Build the Most Relied Upon DXP for WordPress
Today is a very exciting day for us! WP Engine has entered into an agreement to acquire Flywheel, one of the most respected brands in WordPress, known for specializing in workflow and development tools for designers and creative agencies. I couldn’t be happier to have the 200 Flywheel team members joining the WP Engine family!
We believe in the importance of our core values in guiding WP Engine, and this acquisition delivers on all five of our values. These values are shared by our new colleagues at Flywheel, who have built their company on many of the same principles: integrity, authenticity, transparency and employee empowerment. But most of all —not forgetting to have fun along the way!
This is a huge milestone for our company. By joining forces we will now serve more than 120,000 customers in 150 countries with the talent and dedication of nearly 900 employees across seven offices around the world. Flywheel’s team complements WP Engine’s employees and customer base in North America, Australia, and Europe. Flywheel’s office in Omaha will now become our second largest office globally and we can’t wait to amplify the great community impact that the Flywheel team has already made.
This week also marks a year since we became the stewards of Genesis and StudioPress. Together, we’ve made important product innovations to improve how companies create and build on WordPress. We aspire to earn the advocacy of our valued customers and agency partners through our actions every day.
Today’s acquisition puts rocket fuel behind these efforts! As we combine forces, we will be examining ways over the coming months to optimize our joint product portfolios for maximum customer value.
I’m truly excited about the potential this news brings to our amazing customers, employees, and the best open source community in the world, WordPress. The future is extremely bright for Flywheel and WP Engine – we are indeed better together. Carpe Diem!
Great news! I was just looking at Flywheel and wondering how their support of Genesis and its child themes would work. You answered my question!
Thanks
