Fortune Names WP Engine A Top Mid-Sized WorkPlace
At WP Engine, we believe that customer satisfaction and employee experience are intrinsically linked. Providing an environment in which employees feel comfortable and are encouraged to be their true selves gives employees a purpose. The results are more energetic, motivated work. Not to mention, when opportunities for career growth are kept transparent and achievable for all employees, job performance is more efficient and inspired. Employee fulfillment is therefore felt directly and indirectly by the customer who experiences top-notch support and quality results.
While providing lavish perks and great benefits are relatively simple to accomplish, facilitating a workplace built on sturdy values that maintain trust, diversity purpose and camaraderie is more difficult. One way WP Engine promotes diversity is by hiring people who have experience with the WordPress platform but don’t necessarily have a college degree. Today, 35 percent of the WP Engine team does not have a college degree. Sustaining these values and purposes takes work and strategy but the results are felt by everyone.
We are tremendously proud to announce that WP Engine has ranked 45th nationally as a top workplace by Fortune magazine.
Fortune determined the winners in the medium-sized business category (100-999 employees) according to certain criteria:
- 50 workplace quality questions including managers’ competence, respect, and fairness in the workplace, opportunities for meaningful work and great colleagues
- To be considered, companies had to meet the Great Place to Work-Certified™ standard and their survey results needed at least a 95% confidence level, 6% margin of error.
- The survey is intended to measure 5 key principles of a great workplace: credibility, respect, fairness, camaraderie, and pride
“At WP Engine, we’ve worked very hard to hire and empower a diverse team. We’ve put a lot of thought into creating a culture where all of our employees feel valued, respected, and engaged. Diversity and inclusion doesn’t just happen on its own. It takes intention, planning, and commitment.” – Annette Alexander, CPO
“Hard work doesn’t go unnoticed at WP Engine. Each and every employee is encouraged (and enabled) to pursue their passion, maximize their potential, and achieve their career growth goals. I am not just a number! We all have a direct impact on the bottom line, and the company supports camaraderie and is always willing to invest in new ideas.” – Dana Kleen, Sales Manager
“The leadership coaching and mentoring opportunities at WP Engine are endless. This is a company that truly allows you to be in charge of your own career. Joining the company as a level 1, I was empowered to create my own destiny. And, with the continued Support of both my peers and leaders around me, I am able to continue to grow in my role and at WP Engine in whichever direction I chose.” – Jathan Désir, Support Manager
