Stop by for the free swag, stick around for the jam-packed schedule of informative sessions!
WP Engine is proud to sponsor WordCamp Europe 2023, which takes place June 8–10 in Athens, Greece at Megaron Athens International Conference Centre.
This year’s event is likely to be the biggest in WordCamp Europe history, with more than 3,000 attendees expected (and only a few tickets still available).
WordCamp Europe is a great opportunity to meet other WordPress aficionados, learn firsthand knowledge from veteran contributors, and give back to the open source framework that powers 43% of the Internet!
Read on for a quick overview of what you can expect at WordCamp Europe as well as where to find WP Engine at the event!
Stop By, Say Hi!
The first day of WordCamp Europe, June 8, will be a Contributor Day. WP Engine will have a few employees in attendance as we all gather together to give back to WordPress. Even if you’ve never contributed, experts will be there to help you get started.
There are tons of ways to contribute to WordPress core, including a host of both technical and non-technical tasks.
Technical tasks could include:
- Testing and reporting bugs on the WordPress core software, themes, and plugins
- Writing and submitting patches for bug fixes
- Designing or developing a WordPress theme or plugin to share on WordPress.org
- Working on the WordPress mobile apps
Non-technical tasks could include:
- Writing or improving documentation for WordPress
- Translation assistance on documents or videos (including subtitles)
- Responding in forums to help other users solve problems
- Creating or improving WordPress lesson plans and related materials for instructors
- Taking and submitting photos for the Openverse
The following night, after a jam-packed day full of awesome and informative sessions (including one session on leveraging AI to your advantage led by our very own James Dominy), we’ll be hosting a little party—and you’re invited! On Friday, June 9, WP Engine is hosting a free networking event at St. George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel from 7–9 pm on the 6th floor.
Enjoy free drinks, small bites, live music, and the company of fellow WordPressers—but spots are filling up fast, so make sure you register ahead of time and remember to bring your WordCamp entry badge with you.
During WordCamp, make sure to stop by the WP Engine booth for a chance to win some free swag, including an exclusive 2023 WP Engine t-shirt, a koozie, or even one of two Bose Soundlink Micro Bluetooth speakers.
When you walk into the venue, head toward the Atrium and peek around the corner—you’ll find our booth there, right next to Track 1.
While you’re there, stick around for a quick demo or two to see WP Engine’s industry-leading tools in action. We’ll share six demos on both June 9th and 10th:
- 10:30 am Headless WordPress
- 11:30 am WP Migrate
- 12:30 pm Local
- 1:30 pm Advanced Custom Fields
- 2:30 pm eCommerce
- 3:30 pm Frost & Pattern Manager
Because there was so much interest in speaking at this event, organizers added a third talk track. That means three speaker tracks and two workshop tracks, so there is guaranteed to be something for everyone at WordCamp Europe this year.
That said, do try to carve out a little time between talks to stop by our booth and check out some tools you can use for your next WordPress project!
WP Engine Proudly Serves Europe and Beyond
