Today the Austin Business Journal released its list of 2016 Best Places to Work in Austin and WP Engine was voted the fourth best large company to work for in the city! This is the third consecutive year WP Engine has ranked as a best place to work, and the first time WP Engine has competed in the large business category.

So what qualifies a company as the best to work for? Voting criteria established by the Austin Business Journal included how well employees responded to surveys, with at least 95 percent of the company required to respond in order to qualify for ranking. ABJ also took business intelligence, benefits, company culture, and office perks into account.

WP Engine’s main headquarters in Austin offers employees unlimited PTO, catered lunches, discounted gym memberships, free parking, and has a culture club that throws fun activities every month. In addition, execs practice an open-book policy that includes a “no-surprise” environment in which all employees understand how the company is fairing.

“At WP Engine we feel our culture and people are our key differentiator and everyone is incredibly proud to work for the company,” said CFO April Downing in recent interview about Austin’s sleekest tech spaces.

WP Engine employees take a team photo during “All Hands Week,” a bi-annual event that brings the WP Engine family—including all Texas-based and remote employees—together at the Austin headquarters to engage with each other for a week of fun and festivities.
