Design de Plume

Design de Plume is an Indigenously-owned, women led international design agency with over fifteen years of experience that creates inclusive and accessible designs for social good.

We hand craft visuals that resonate with people across the glorious human spectrum of abilities, cultures, genders, and learning styles. All so you can connect with and inspire everyone you need to reach.

Our projects have ranged from full-fledged branding campaigns and web development, to print design projects. When working on any project we always consider who the client is, who their demographic is, and the intent of the design work. Our work is research driven first which leads to a more successful and creative design solution. We also know firsthand the communication challenges Indigenous communities face and how you can use design to make your message relevant, authentic, and informed.

IPCA Knowledge Basket

The IPCA Knowledge Basket is an online platform for sharing Indigenous conservation knowledge, and a case study in meaningful representation. Indigenous values inform every detail: for instance, users are prompted to uphold the principles of Reciprocity, Respect and Responsibility when creating an account. The oral tradition is also fundamental in Indigenous cultures, so we brought the space to life with nature sounds, animated imagery, and audio records. Since it launched, IPCA Knowledge Basket has grown into an active community, with hundreds of people from across Canada contributing knowledge and more users joining every week.

NWAC’s Culturally Safe and Trauma-Informed Knowledge Hub

This mobile-first site for the Native Women’s Association of Canada provides resources on sexual and reproductive health to young Indigenous people across the country. In addition to information and education, the site also offers users culturally safe, trauma-informed support via its Ask Auntie advice column, as well as an easy-to-use map of services to connect them with nearby STBBI testing.
