Over the past two decades, acquiring venture funding has completely changed from an era where there was a scarcity of capital to today when there are more sources of capital than ever before. Concurrently, low business startup costs, near free cloud computing, the ubiquity of social media, and global distribution channels means starting a business has never been more accessible.

Yet, the number of investors has not increased by any significant percentage.
