WP Engine UK Earns Recognition as a Best Workplace in Tech
Our UK team is WP Engine’s second global location to make a Great Place To Work Tech list this year
After becoming Great Place to Work-certified earlier this year, WP Engine UK has also been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Tech by the global authority on workplace culture.
WP Engine UK, (which includes our London team and our remote UK team members) ranked as one of the top medium-sized companies listed by Great Place to Work® UK. Globally, the Best Workplace™ survey is the largest survey of workplace cultures and people practices.
The methodology that creates the UK Best Workplaces™ rankings is one of the most rigorous and highly sought after – and regarded as the ‘gold standard’ of employer awards. Companies eligible for the UK’s Best Workplace™ in Tech Medium-sized company category needed to meet the following criteria: 51-250 employees and excelled in the Great Place to Work’s Trust Index© employee survey. The ranking affirms that:
- WP Engine UK is a great workplace FOR ALL employees.
- WP Engine UK employees feel a strong sense of trust, fairness, pride, camaraderie, and wellbeing because of how their workplace treats them.
- WP Engine UK lives up to its company values with leaders making meaningful changes to improve how they recruit, retain and nurture their talent.
“I am delighted that WP Engine UK has been recognised as a great place to work. Our team is awesome and our culture is very special. It all comes down to our people, and the team here truly embodies our core values each and every day.”
—Simon Lemos, WP Engine VP Sales EMEA
Outside of recognizing organizations on their primary ranked lists, Great Place To Work compiles adjunct lists that break down certified Great Places to Work by taking additional factors into account. Results are tabulated based on responses to the Best Workplace™ survey, the largest survey of workplace cultures and people practices worldwide.
To make the Best Workplaces in Tech list for their region, our UK team needed to consist of at least 20 employees, submit a brief about their workplace culture, and meet a minimum Trust Index© threshold of 75% for the Medium size category.
“Technology is what has enabled the world of work to evolve with pace during the pandemic—and what will continue to push even more leaders to embrace new ways of working, no matter what their organisation’s size, location or industry. Those within the UK’s tech space who have actively prioritised building a positive employee experience and supported their people’s personal wellbeing are the ones we’re proud to celebrate today,” said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK.
“In this fourth year of recognising the UK’s Best Workplaces™ in Tech, many of these firms experienced rapid growth, but never lost sight of their values. They maintained their mantra of ‘putting people first’, often finding innovative and creative solutions to drive their great workplace culture remotely. We hope that by highlighting our Tech list recipients, other employers will be encouraged to make changes to their own people strategy and ensure people remain at the heart of their business policies, practices and programmes for a consistently great employee experience for all.”
Supplementary best workplace lists for 2021 have been released slowly throughout the past few months, some of which include top companies based on geographic location, industry, or inclusive diversity practices for parents, women, and millennials, among other factors.
Certification by Great Place to Work is an indication of a company’s commitment to building a strong workplace culture based on openness, communication, and trust. Our UK location’s position on this list marks them as leaders paving the way toward successful workplace cultures within the tech industry.
“As a Senior Account Manager, I’ve seen plenty of changes take place throughout my career at WP Engine, but one thing that’s always been clear is the company’s commitment to their people and our team’s commitment to one another. No person can build a team like this alone, and this recognition is a testament to the amazing people we have here.”
—Kwabena Asiedu, Senior Account Manager, WP Engine
