The WP Engine Agency Partner Program

Agency partners earn recurring commissions of 8%, 10%, or 12% on client referrals, depending on their partner tier (Member, Preferred, Advanced, and Strategic). Commissions are paid monthly for up to 12 months per referred customer. There is no cap on the number of referrals, and commissions stack — so the more active clients you refer, the more you earn each month.

Joining the WP Engine Agency Partner Program is completely free. Once approved, you immediately receive a free developer environment for building and testing client sites, access to the Partner Portal with co-branded sales materials, and a dedicated partner dashboard to track referrals and commissions. Approval typically takes 3-5 business days.

The program is designed for web development agencies, digital marketing agencies, design studios, and ecommerce agencies that manage or build websites for clients on managed hosting platforms. You don’t need to be an existing WP Engine customer to apply. To qualify, your agency should have an active business website, manage websites for external clients, and use a business email address. Freelancers working with multiple clients may also be eligible.

Partner tiers — Member, Preferred, Advanced, and Strategic — are based on the number & monthly recurring revenue associated with active referred clients you maintain. As you move up, your recurring commission rate increases (from 8% to 10% to 12%), and you unlock additional benefits including priority support response times, increased exposure in the WP Engine Agency Directory, and access to co-marketing opportunities and dedicated account management at the Strageic tier.

Yes — the partnership is bidirectional. Eligible partners may receive opportunities through the Agency Directory and partner ecosystem. Higher-tier partners receive greater visibility in the directory and are prioritized in referral matching. This means the program can function as a new business channel for your agency, not just a commission source.

Each partner receives a unique referral tracking link and access to a dashboard in the Partner Portal to track your referrals and associated commissions. 

Commissions are paid on a monthly basis via ACH or bank transfer. Referred accounts become eligible for commission payments after the referred client’s account has been open and in good standing for 90-days.

Advanced and Strategic agency partners receive priority access to WP Engine’s 24/7 support team, with faster response times than standard customers. Advanced and Strategic partners also receive a dedicated partner success manager for strategic guidance. In addition, partners get access to exclusive training resources, partner-only webinars, and the partner community — all designed to help your agency deliver better results for clients on the platform.
