Embark - Maximizing Modern Web Frameworks and Headless WordPress on Atlas

Embark is a financial services company that provides Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs) and resources to help parents and students plan for post-secondary education. Their goal is to inspire and support students, parents, and caregivers throughout the educational journey. They approached Art & Science to create their brand strategy, name, and assets such as the logo, tagline, signage, and website.

We chose headless for a variety of reasons, including; the ability to syndicate content created in WordPress to multiple platforms (website, client portal, app), improved security, and leveraging modern web frameworks to improve performance and deliver a site that could be maintained for years to come.

Sagen - Content is King With Publishing Workflows and Sophisticated Search

Sagen™, previously known as Genworth Canada, is Canada’s largest private mortgage insurance provider. They offer many different mortgage insurance products to lenders and brokers across Canada, making homeownership more accessible to first-time homebuyers.

Sagen approached Art & Science for a complete rebrand exercise including; new name, refresh of all brand assets, and a new website.

We built a bespoke theme for them that realized their new brand with lots of functionality under the hood. Our implementation included complex publishing controls and workflows enforcing content governance with approval mechanisms and sophisticated navigation and a high performance search engine for their Underwriting Policies and Standards that leverages AI-powered synonym matching to ensure brokers and first-time home-buyers can find what they need regardless of industry terminology knowledge.

While the site is technically complex, the content editing experience remains intuitive with a combination of page builder and structured templates proving the right balance of customization without compromising brand image.

GMSH - WordPress Multisite Enables Cost Efficiencies and Centralized Administration

The Gay Men’s Sexual Health Alliance champions the health and well-being of our communities. Their mission is to improve the quality of sexual healthcare for all gay men in Ontario, Canada. They do this by working with HIV service organizations, researchers, and front-line healthcare providers to increase their capacity and keep them up-to-date with the latest science and best practices.

When Art & Science started work with GMSH they had close to a dozen campaign websites built by separate agencies. Over our long relationship with them we built a brand-new organization website GMSH.ca and migrated the individual campaign sites onto a consolidated WordPress Multisite instance. Consolidating these sites enabled us to standardize the set of plugins in use, leveraging cost effective multi-site licenses, and creating a consistent website content and administration experience that reduced complexity for their largely volunteer workforce. This also allowed us to create a "hub and spoke" model enabling connections between the sites that were previously unattainable, including inter-site linking, and a search engine that indexes content across the entire fleet of sites.
