Cuberis

Cuberis designs and develops dynamic, beautiful, and flexible websites for museums. We utilize a Low-Code/No-Code WordPress framework. Until recently, custom museum websites with dynamically related collections, exhibitions, events, and blogs required lots of custom code. But today’s WordPress platform with its abundant supporting frameworks, plugins, and integrations can be deployed with little to no custom code.

The initial design and development project resulted in a unified public-facing platform for Vizcaya’s website, collections, microsites, educational resources, and marketing systems. This new website also a content management system that can be updated by Vizcaya staff, allowing for more topical content and enriched storytelling. Subsequent projects amplified this focus on storytelling. Addison Gallery of American Art

Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy Andover required a full redesign of their website in conjunction with a full museum rebranding effort. While the rebranding process was still in processes, Cuberis was able to engage their team in our prototyping process to carefully define the content, structure, and functionality of the new site, as we awaited the new branding which would inform the rest of the visual design process.

The new site features a dynamic gallery map, filterable museum resources including news, lesson plans, collection guides, as well as audio and video resources.

The Addison Gallery utilizes the EmbARK collection management system by Gallery Systems, as well as its WebKiosk platform. Cuberis was able to integrate, customize, and optimize the display of the WebKiosk system content directly into the main website. Additionally, we were able to maintain the EmbARK exhibition data (including well over 1,000 past exhibitions) but dynamically redirect any EmbARK exhibition links to the newer, augmented exhibition pages built using our WordPress platform.

Illinois Holocaust Museum – Holocaust in the Soviet Union Online Exhibition

Illinois Holocaust Museum created this online experience sharing the often overlooked history of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union. Chicago-area Survivors and their families tell their stories through mixed media presentations including photos, artifacts, diaries, video, and interactive exhibits.

The exhibition contains nine long-form content pages of pre-war Jewish life, through invasion, ghettos, camps, resistance, rescue, liberation, and post war life.

This special exhibition website features a search and filter sub-collection of photos and artifacts for researchers and educators. It also contains biographical stories from survivors and family members.
