Project Brief:

To create a WordPress website. The website was going to be an overview of the existing business with a variety of additional features, including PetsOnTapp – a multifunctional app that allows pet owners to take control of their pets’ health, Pet Educate – an easy-to-understand overview summary as well as directing users to other reliable online sources, Pet Connect – allows users to efficiently search for various service providers for pets around Hong Kong and lastly, a store for petsontapp merchandise.

Design Process:

For the website, we started our research on service design and mapped out user journey and behaviour with the client to ensure the design was in line with the client's vision. Once the research was completed, we started off by creating four options for the home page, along with a mood board to fully understand what the client wants.

Once the home page was finalised, the rest of the design was modelled to be simple and elegant to maximise user experience and ensure that the information on the website was simple and easy to comprehend.

As pet owners and dog lovers, we could completely understand and relate to the need for such a product in the market.

Col’s existing website was unable to portray his photography on the website in an efficient and clean way for him to sell his prints. Even though he had great imagery, he was not able to display it in an organised and well-organised way.

He wanted a phenomenal homepage that highlighted individual images to showcase his range of services. In particular, the design would be minimal and light so that the focus would be on the photography rather than the layout. He also wanted to improve his SEO.

Design Process:

Once the research was completed, we started off by creating four options for the home page, along with a mood board to fully understand what the client wants. Once the home page and the colour scheme were finalised, the rest of the design was modelled to be simple and elegant to maximise user experience and the environment in which the photographs are presented.

Why we enjoyed doing this project:

Getting good-quality images to use on a website is often very difficult as client rarely has their own. Normally we have to use stock images but with Col, we basically had an overwhelming repository.

The project began in January 2021 and started by looking at award style websites as a basic reference idea to help us create minimal front page designs. Next, we did extensive research on service design and mapped out user journey and behaviour with the client to ensure the design was in line with the client's vision.
