Peak website performance
Unlock a faster experience
Images are the heaviest part of any site, and Page Speed Boost provides a holistic image optimization toolkit that is offloaded from your WordPress server, including:
- Lossy and loss image compression
- Preemptive image sizing
- WebP conversion
- Advanced lazy loading
Your images will load more efficiently for better user experience and SEO.
Every site’s code can get cluttered and bloated and going back to clean it up can take a developer weeks.
Page Speed Boost will clean up your code through:
- Minification: Removing unnecessary bloat from your code files
- Compression: Rewriting and encoding files into smaller bits
Smaller code files means faster delivery for all of your users and better site performance.
Most web browsers will try to load everything at once—even images that are below-the-fold!
Page Speed Boost automatically sequences your site load in the best way possible—ensuring the most important components are loaded first through:
- Lazy load images, videos, and iFrames: Only load the images you’re viewing
- Deferred Javascript loading: Delay the non-essential Javascript code, (e.g. social media widgets) until after the most critical content has loaded
- Prioritized critical CSS: Load the design elements first to increase real and perceived loading for your users

Yes. Page Speed Boost is a feature built by and unique to WP Engine.
Optimizing Core Web Vitals is crucial for your WordPress site’s SEO performance and user experience. Core Web Vitals are user-centric metrics that include loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability. By optimizing for these metrics, you ensure visitors encounter a fast and seamless website, leading to lower bounce rates and higher user engagement. This ultimately boosts your site’s search engine visibility, driving more organic traffic and elevating your WordPress site’s overall SEO effectiveness.
Page Speed Boost is a great fit for most traditional WordPress sites—media, eCommerce, blogs—any site that’s looking to improve SEO and performance. However, it will not work on multisite or headless sites.
It’s easy to add Page Speed Boost to a plan in the self service portal or by speaking to your account manager. Note: at this time, Page Speed Boost is available to all non-Atlas customers. We do not support multisite at this time.
Page Speed Boost is only available as an add-on for WordPress sites hosted on WP Engine.
